Burial will follow in the Abernathy Cemetery. Cremation services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Diana Hernandez passed on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 in Lubbock, TX, a proud and loving grandmother. Diana was born on February 18, 1957, in Lubbock to Adan and Micaela (Galaviz) Villegas. She was raised in Abernathy, where she built a life filled with love, laughter, and strong community ties. In 1972, she married Manuel Hernandez. A proud and loving grandmother, Diana found her greatest joy in talking with her grandkids. She loved spending time with friends and playing bingo with the Dominguez family, always bringing smiles and good humor wherever she went. She was also one of her son David's biggest fans—never missing his music shows—and she thoroughly enjoyed watching wrestling, cheering on her favorite wrestlers with the same passion she brought to everything she did. She is preceded in death by her parents Adan and Micaela Villegas. Diana is survived by 3 sons David, Matthew and Demas Hernandez, 5 grandchildren Jalyn, Marissa, Isaiah, Jacob and Kaia Hernandez, and 2 sisters Lucy Brown and Linda Cuevas.
