Services for Demencio C. Gomez, 92, of Hale Center, TX, were held at Iglesia Bautista del Carpintero in Hale Center at 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 10, 2010. Cremation followed services under the direction of Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop of Hale Center, TX. Mr. Gomez died in Plainview, Sunday, February 7, 2010. He was born September 25, 1917 in Odem, TX. He married Manuela Dominguez on January 13, 1943 in Odem, TX. They moved to Hale Center in 1960 from Odem. He was preceded in death by 4 grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Manuela Gomez of Hale Center, TX, 5 sons, Baldemar and Rudolfo both of Hale Center, TX, Leo of Houston, TX, Demencio, Jr. of Roswell, NM and Sabino of Plainview, TX, 3 daughters, Soila Gomez of Hale Center, TX, Aurora Cray of Rowlett, TX and Diamantina Canales of Lubbock, TX, 19 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, and 20 great great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Florencio Gomez of Hale Center, TX and Juan Gomez of Ft.
