Memorial services for Delton Chastain, 71, of Abernathy, TX were held at 4:00 pm Friday, June 12, 2009, in the Abernathy Cemetery with Rev. Joel Perez officiating. Cremation was under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. Mr. Chastain died Tuesday, June 9, 2009, in Lubbock, TX. He was born June 10, 1937 and died one day short of his 72nd birthday. He was born in Farmersville to Henry D. and Lottie (Wisdom) Chastain. He was a lifelong Abernathy resident and farmed in the Abernathy area. He is survived by 3 sisters, Janet Mathis and Tammy Doyle both of Odessa, TX and Frances Perkins of Hale Center, TX.
