Funeral services for Della Morgan, 70, of Abernathy, TX, were held at 11:00 am Thursday, September 29, 2011, in the Northside Baptist Church with Rev. Joel Perez and Rev. Bill Parmer officiating. Burial followed in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Mrs. Morgan died in Lubbock, TX, Saturday, September 24, 2011. She was born in Los Angeles, CA, July 17, 1940 to Olney and Frances (Madden) Harrison. She married Bill Self Morgan on September 6, 1957 in Lubbock, TX, and he preceded her in death on September 5, 1992. She has lived in Abernathy since 1958, moving here from Spur, TX, and was a member of the Northside Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharla Kay Morgan on October 30, 1964. She is survived by 2 sons, Travis Morgan and wife Lisa of Lockney, TX, and Kenneth Morgan of Truth or Consequences, NM, 3 grandchildren, Dusty, Dylan and Lexi Morgan, 2 brothers and 5 sisters.
