Dayton Marr

Funeral services for Dayton Brice Marr, 69, of Abernathy, TX, were held at 10:00 am Friday, June 6, 2003, in the Northside Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth Johnson officiating. Burial followed in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy. Mr. Marr died Tuesday morning, June 3, 2003, in Lubbock, TX. He was born on September 27, 1933 in Lubbock County. He married Jeanne Foster on July 2, 1952 in Lubbock. They moved to Abernathy in 1969 from County Line, TX, where they had farmed. He was Resident Deputy for the Hale County Sheriff's Office for 29 years. He has been retired for several years. He was a member of Knights of Pithians and a member of the County Line Baptist Church. Mother-in-law, Mrs. Hubert Foster of Abernathy, TX. 2 daughters, Robin Luna of Abernathy, TX, and Cindy Hernandez of Denison, TX. 5 grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Luna both of Abernathy, TX, Marc Anderson of Lubbock, TX, Laura Ortiz of Odessa, TX and Kym St. Clair of Abernathy. 5 great grandchildren, Archie, Gabrielle, Nicholas, Breanna and Josiah. 1 brother, Glenford Marr and his wife Marie of Shallowater, TX. 1 sister, Valedia Williams and her husband Wayne of Lubbock, TX.
