Celebration of Life Services for David Doughty, "Uncle D," 71, of Lubbock, TX, will be held at the Miller Home, Abernathy, TX, at 11:00 am, Saturday, December 28, 2024. Another Celebration of Life Service will be held on the Family Farm in Joshua, TX, 12:00 pm, Saturday January 4, 2025. Cremation services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Mr. Doughty died Monday, December 3, 2024, in Lubbock, TX. David was born July 12, 1953 in New Castle, WY to Bill and JoAnn Farella Doughty. The family moved to Joshua, TX where David was raised by F.B. and JoAnn Miller. Affectionately known as Uncle D, he had a passion for fishing, playing cards, dominoes and recycling. He loved to give everyone the daily weather, whether that be in Lubbock or New Castle, he would look it up and provide the details. Uncle D is survived by 2 brothers, Maurice Miller and wife Ann of Brock, TX, and Mark Miller of Abernathy, 1 nephew, Markus Miller and 4 nieces, Kristin Miller, Kimberly Jones, Julie Looney all of Abernathy, Kelly Jo Newman and husband Craig of Alpine, TX and 10 great nieces and nephews.
