Services for David W. Bray, 54, of Lubbock, TX were held at 2:00 pm Sunday, October 22, 2006, in the Turning Point Community Church, 5300 Elgin Ave., Lubbock, TX, with Rev. Andy Wood, pastor, officiating. Burial followed in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. Mr. Bray died Thursday, October 19, 2006 in Lubbock, TX. He was born September 5, 1952 in Frankfurt, Germany. He was raised in Abernathy and graduated from Abernathy High School in 1971 and married Charlene Dippel on June 14, 1998 in Hamlin, TX. They moved to Lubbock in 1998 and he attended Turning Point Community Church in Lubbock, and was an avid Nascar fan. He is survived by his wife, Charlene Bray of Lubbock, TX, 2 daughters, Krista Nelson and her husband Garrett of Muleshoe, TX and Toni Craft and her husband Ty of Jacksonville, NC, a son Erik Bray of Lubbock, TX, 2 step-daughters, Angelia Hahn and Kim Hahn both of San Antonio, TX, 2 granddaughters, Kassidy and Reagan Nelson and a grandson, Tristan Craft, and one brother, Bruce Bray and his wife Karen of Austin, TX. The family suggests memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society, Building fund for Turning Point Community Church, or a favorite charity. Abell Funeral Home
