Danny Lee Aguirre

Danny Lee Aguirre, 39, of Grand Praire,TX, died Monday, February 5, 2018. He was born November 11, 1978 in Hale Center, TX, the son of Tony and Sally (Valdivia) Aguirre. He graduated from Hale Center High School in 1997, where he was a member of the football and baseball team and the band.

He pursued his post secondary education earning his Bachelors Degree in Exercise and Sports Science at Texas Tech University on August 10, 2002 and then his Master’s Degree in Sports Management on December 18, 2004. Danny was the Department Chair of Kinesiology at the Tarrant County College Southeast Campus. During his time there, he also taught physical education courses.

Danny loved living life to the fullest. He enjoyed taking his dog Mia to the dog park, working out, golfing, fishing, and taking trips to Mexico. He was a sports fanatic to the fullest and enjoyed watching Green Bay, the Cowboys, the Stars, and attended Rangers games regularly, but his all time favorite team to watch was his Red Raiders. He will be greatly missed.

Danny is survived by his parents Tony and Sally Aguirre, two brothers, Tony Jr and wife Christy Aguirre of Lubbock, Luke Aguirre of Lubbock, and one niece and nephew, Baylee and Ty. He is also survived by his materal grandparents, Tony and Lidia Valdivia of Hale Center and by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Juan and Maria Aguirre, his uncle, John Joe Aguirre, and his beloved dog, Mya.

Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Friday, February 9, 2018 at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Abernathy, with Rev. John Smith officiating.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am Saturday, February 10th at St. Isidore Catholic Church, burial will follow in the Hale Center Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX.
