Daniel Miller

Funeral services for Daniel Webster Miller, 57, of Abernathy, were held at 2:00 pm Saturday, August 11, 2001, in the First Church Of The Nazarene, Abernathy. The Revs. W. R. Bolton and C. C. Peoples, will officiate. Burial followed services in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy. Mr. Miller died Wednesday, August 8, 2001, at his home in Abernathy, Tx. He was born on February 9, 1944, in Aspermont, Tx. He moved to Abernathy in 1964, and married Coleen Mathis on October 16, 1965 in Aspermont. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church as well as an umpire for the USSSA softball association. Survivors; Wife; Coleen Miller of Abernathy, Tx. 1 Son; Daniel Russell Miller of Austin, Tx. 2 Daughters; Sarah Sheppard and her husband James of Longview, Tx., and La Christa Jones and her husband Kenneth of West Melbourne, Fl. 3 Brothers; Lee Norman of Odessa, Tx., Glover Miller, Jr. of Aspermont, Tx. and Harold Miller of Abernathy, Tx. 4 Sisters; Ester Ruth Bennett of Hawley, Tx., Ella Sue Johnson of Pecos, Tx., Betty Sneed and Nancy Hines both of Dallas, Tx. 2 Grandchildren; La Kendra Jones of West Melbourne, Fl. and Torean Sheppard of Longview, Tx.
