Dana Sue Annis

Graveside services for Dana Sue Annis, 77, of Abernathy, TX, will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, October 2, 2023, in the Abernathy Cemetery with Rev. Joel Perez, officiating. Services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Mrs. Annis died at her home Thursday, September 28, 2023. She was born August 7, 1946 in Lubbock, TX to Marlon "Dude " and Mable Willingham (Mahagan) Smith. Dana was raised in the Abernathy and Petersburg areas and graduated from Abernathy High School. She worked at her Mother's daycare before going to LVN school. She worked at the Lubbock State School as a nurse for over 20 years. She loved painting, old westerns and soap operas. She loved her weekly trips with her sister, Anna, to Walmart every Friday. She was a faithful member at Northside Baptist Church in Abernathy. She is survived by 3 children; Tammy Sherman and husband Kelly of Abernathy, Stacy Perry and husband Spencer and Hollie Vasquez and husband Adam all of Lubbock, TX, 3 grandchildren, Kyley and her husband Jerry, Malaycia and Zachary, a sister, Anna Hill of Abernathy, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The family suggests memorials be sent to Northside Baptist Church.
