Daisy Gist

Funeral services for Daisy Gist, 88, of Abernathy, TX, were held at 2:00 pm Friday, May 13, 2005, in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Hughes officiating. Burial followed in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. Mrs. Gist died Wednesday, May 11, 2005, at the Garrison Center in Lubbock. She was born April 30, 1917 in Red River County, TX to Frank Healy and Nellie (Brewer) Healy. She married L. V. Gist, January 29, 1938 in Clarksville, TX, he preceded her in death February 27, 1974. She has lived in Abernathy since 1946 and was a member of the Abernathy First Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by 2 sons, Billy Gist, May 10, 1983, and Jerry Gist, November 3, 1999 and a grandson, Greg Gist, February 12, 2005. She is survived by a son, Larry Gist of Lubbock, TX, and a sister, Mattie Johnson of Paris, TX, 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Abell Funeral Home
