Services for Carol Brewer Johnson, 71, of Hale Center, TX, were held at 3:00 pm Friday, April 27, 2012, in the First Baptist Church with Bro. Carrol Green officiating. Burial followed in the Hale Center Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Hale Center, TX. Mrs. Johnson died at her home Tuesday, April 24, 2012. She was born February 24, 1941 in Hale County, TX, and was a lifelong Hale Center resident and member of the First Baptist Church. She married Edwin "ED" Lewis Johnson on July 13, 1962 in Cotton Center, TX, and he preceded her in death on November 21, 2009. She was preceded in death by 3 siblings, Dwain Brewer, Nanny Jarnigan and Mary Sue Brewer. She is survived by 2 sons, Wesley Johnson and wife Beverly of Cotton Center, TX and Murvin Johnson and wife Pam of Hale Center, TX, 2 daughters, Cheryl Bowman and husband Connie of Littlefield, TX and Patricia Johnson of Hale Center, 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, 4 siblings, Gweneth Purvis of Georgetown, TX, Bobby Brewer of Brownfield, TX, Sammy Brewer of Lubbock, TX and Billy Brewer of Sulfur, OK.
