CARMELITA JIMENEZ HALE CENTER Rosary for Carmelita Jimenez, 65, of Hale Center, TX, were recited at 7:00 pm Friday, January 9, 2009, in St. Theresa's Catholic Church, Hale Center with Rev. Martin Pena officiating. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10:00 am Saturday, January 10, 2009, in the same church with the same officiant. Burial followed in the Halfway Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Hale Center. TX. Mrs. Jimenez died Wednesday, January 7, 2009, in Lubbock, TX. She was born November 13, 1943 in Tucumcari, NM to Antonio and Juanita (Aragon) Lopez. She married Emilio Jimenez, Jr. in Hale Center in 1961. She was a member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church and the Guadalupanas. She put hereslef through college while working at Alsups and later worked as a substitute teacher in Olton and Hale Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and a sister. She is survived by her husband, Emilio Jimenez, Jr. of Hale Center, TX, 5 sons, James Jimenez of Dumas, TX, Tommy Jimenez of Plainview, TX, Mike Jimenez of Colorado, Derick Ruben Molina and Darrell LeeJimenez both of Hale Center, TX, 2 daughters, Michelle Jimenez of Plainview, TX and Veronica Fay Jimenez of Plainview, TX, 3 brothers, Steve Lopez, Robert Lopez and Larry Lopez all of Roswel, NM, a sister Eslinda Valverde also of Roswell, NM, 16 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
