Services for Bobby Barnes, 81, of Cotton Center, TX, were held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, January 22, 2009, in the First Baptist Church at Cotton Center, TX, with Rev. J. D. Templeton, pastor, officiating. Burial followed services in the Center Plains Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Hale Center, TX. Mr. Barnes died Tuesday, January 20, 2009, in Plainview, TX. He was born January 29, 1927 in Cottle County, Paducah, TX. He served in the United States Army and farmed in the Cotton Center area. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church at Cotton Center. He is survived by 3 brothers, O. L. Barnes and his wife Marcie of Dripping Springs, TX, Alton Barnes and his wife Frances of Floydada, TX, and Bill Barnes and his wife Cora of San Antonio, TX, a sister, Glenda Barrett and her husband Calvin of Cotton Center, TX and nieces and nephews that loved him very much.
