Graveside services for Billy A. Peters, 75, of Carlsbad, N.M. were held at 10:00 am Thursday, July 1, 2004, in the Abernathy Cemetery with Rev. Tim Winn officiating. Services were under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. Mr. Peters died at his daughters home in Lubbock, Monday, June 28, 2004. He was born March 14, 1929 in Siloam Springs, Arkansas to Lee and Martha Prollock Peters. He was a longtime resident of Carlsbad. Survivors include his 6 children, Alan Peters of McCamey, TX, Beverly Winn and her husband Tim of Lubbock, TX, Barbara Chenault of Lubbock, TX, Ray Peters and his wife Herminia of Carlsbad, NM, Melissa Carpenter and her husband Donny of Dimmitt, TX, and Raymond Peters of Carlsbad, NM, 19 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
