Bertha Neis

Graveside services for Bertha Neis, 94, of Abernathy, TX, were held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, March 2, 2004, in the Abernathy Cemetery with Rev. Darrell Blevins officiating. Services were under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. Mrs. Neis died Saturday, February 28, 2004, in Lubbock, TX. She was born December 20, 1909 in Brownwood, TX. She married Ernest Lorenzo Neis on November 3, 1935 in Abernathy. She moved to Abernathy in 1935 from Clovis, N.M. She worked as a custodian with her husband at the Abernathy ISD. She was preceded in death by her husband, January 6, 1992 and a grandson, Dwayne Blevins in 1996 and a son-in-law, Delbert Perkins in 2004. She is survived by; One son, James Harold Neis of Yukon, OK. Two daughters, Ernestine Harrell of Abernathy, TX, and Maybell Perkins of Lubbock, TX. Ten grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be sent to the Abernathy Cemetery or a favorite charity. Abell Funeral Home
