Rosary for Bertha Herrera De Gonzalez, 87, of New Deal, TX, were recited at 8:00 pm Thursday evening at St. Isidore Catholic Church. Funeral Mass was celebrated in the same church on Friday, February 2, 2007, with Rev. Michael O'Dwyer officiating. Burial followed services in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. She was born January 10, 1920 in Musquiz, Coahaila, Mexico and married David A. Gonzalez, SR in 1952 in Washington State. He preceded her in death on January 2, 1977. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in New Deal, TX was a former member of ST. Isidore Catholic Church in Abernathy and had been a longtime New Deal and Abernathy area resident. She is survived by her children, Maria Luisa R. Herrera, Maria Del Carmen Rains, Orelia Bertha Gonzalez, Sylvia Tanner, Maria Isabel Gonzalez and David A. Gonzalez, JR., 3 step daughters, Ma Elena, Sara and Clara, 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Abell Funeral Home
