Barbara Lynne Keeton

Services for Barbara Lynne Keeton, 80, of Hale Center, TX will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, July 5, 2022, in the Hale Center First Baptist Church with Rev. Taylor Smith, Dr. Gene Meacham and Rev. Terry Wright officiating. Burial will follow in the Hale Center Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Family will gather at Abell Funeral Home to receive friends from 5:30pm until 7:00pm, Monday, July 4, 2022. Mrs. Keeton died Wednesday, June 29, 2022, in Plainview, TX. She was born February 3, 1942 in Santa Anna, TX to Lynn and Gladys (Underwood) May. She was raised in the Lubbock and Levelland areas. She attended Smyer School, Merriman Business College and Texas Tech. Barbara married Don Akin, February of 1958 and together they had a daughter born in November of 1958. Barbara married C. H. Keeton in 1979 and gained two sons. Barbara worked as a Medical Practice Administrator for Drs. Mann, Wright, Maul and Tyler. She was preceded in death by her parents. Barbara is survived by her husband C. H. Keeton of Hale Center, daughter, Suzann Roach and husband Jim of Temple, TX, 2 sons, Steve Keeton and Rodney Keeton and wife Shauna all of Lubbock, TX, 2 sisters, Diane Altman and husband Barry of Smyer, TX and Sue Jeffcoat and husband Body of Breckenridge, TX 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and her beloved dog, Bojangles.
