Services for Barbara S. Benson, 89, of Lubbock, TX, were held at 2:00 pm Friday, December 19, 2008, in the First Baptist Church, Ford Chapel, Lubbock, TX, with Rev. John Ballard officiating. Burial followed in the Hale Center Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop of Hale Center, TX. The family gathered at Ford Chapel of First Baptist Churh to receive friends from 12:00 pm until service time on Friday. Mrs. Benson died at her home Monday, December 15, 2008. She was born March 10, 1919 in Boston, Mass. She married Charles E. Benson in Cotton Center, TX on September 2, 1944. He preceded her in
