Audrey Kitten

November 30, 1923 — February 10, 2016

Audrey Elizabeth Kitten passed away February 10, 2016, at her home in Lubbock, TX. She was born July 19, 1924 to Leo Bernard and Rose (Ruess) Kitten in Slaton, TX, attended St. Joseph Catholic School and graduated from Slaton High School. Audrey served in the United States Marine Corp Women's Reserve during WWII in Camp LeJuene, NC. She was active in the Audubon Society, retired from W. D. Wilkins, and was an accomplished artist. Audrey traveled extensively, and enthusiastically experienced local customs, activities and food around the world. She is predeceased by her parents; brothers Norbert (Cora Lee) Kitten and Arvel Kitten; sisters Rusty (Warren) Hastings, Arline (Clark) Shultz and Jean (John) Kveton; and 2 nephews; and survived by sister-in-law Margaret Kitten. She was an inspiration to nine surviving nephews and 12 nieces throughout her interesting, well-lived life. Her desire to live at home was made possible by expert, loving care from her cherished Chris Buchman, assisted by Chris Reyna, who ask special thanks to Accolade, VA and Direct Health Care, and James Dever. Celebration of Life with, at her request, "not much fuss" will be at noon, Saturday, February 20, at her house, 2219 93rd Street. Memorials are suggested to Southwest Parkinson Society, www.swparkinson.org.
