Annie Lebow

Graveside services for Annie Ruth Lebow, 87, of Bastrop, TX and formerly Abernathy, TX, will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, August 19, 2015, in the Abernathy Cemetery with Rev. Mike O'Donnell, officiating. The family will gather to receive friends at Abell Funeral Home from 5:30 pm until 7:00 pm Tuesday evening, August 18th. Services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Mrs. Lebow died Friday, August 14, 2015, in Bastrop. She was born April 3, 1928 in Pittsburg, TX to Earnest L. and Ruby May (Daily) Hemphill. She married Dan McNeill on October 23, 1946 in Waco, TX and they moved to Abernathy in the late 40's. She lived various places around Abernathy, including a move to Kress, TX. Dan preceded her in death January 3, 1976. She worked as a waitress in Plainview, TX. On Christmas Day of 1978 she married Leo Houston Lebow in Abernathy and he preceded her in death May 7, 2003. She was the Assistant Manager of the Canteen at the Lubbock State Schooland loved doing things for other people, including sewing, ironing and babysitting. She was also preceded in death by a brother Samuel David (Sam) Hemphill in 2002, a sister Lena Acree in 2007 and a granddaughter, Brandi Turner in 2008. She is survived by a son James McNeill, Jr. and wife Marie of Paige, TX and a daughter, Carolyn Ann Kastor and husband Keith of Richmond, TX, grandchildren, Brett McNeill, Keith Aaron Kastor and Kathryn Kastor, 6 great grandchildren and a brother, Earnest Hemphill of Abernathy, many nieces and nephews.
