Graveside services for Ann Harkey, 78, of New Deal, TX, were held at 2:00 pm Monday, Jan. 26, 2004, in the Abernathy Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. Mrs. Harkey died Friday, January 23, 2004, in Lubbock, Tx. She was born September 20, 1925 in Providence, RI. She married Bill Harkey February 8, 1944 in Sekonk, Mass. She moved to New Deal in 1946, and was a member of the Methodist Church. She is survived by; Husband, Bill Harkey of New Deal, TX, 3 sons, Billy R. Harkey of New Deal, TX, Wayne Harkey of Abernathy, TX and Bryan Harkey of Petersburg, TX. 1 daughter, Yvonne Griffis of New Deal, TX. 1 brother, Robert Tierney of Riverside, RI. 12 grandchildren 8 great grandchildren.
