Anita Porter

Anita Gail Porter, 65, of Abernathy, Texas, passed away on August 20, 2026, in Abernathy. She was born on July 11, 1961, in Lubbock, Texas to Wilborn and Johnsey (Davis) Porter.

Anita graduated from Abernathy High School in 1980. Over the years, she worked as a cook for the Lubbock Airport, the Abernathy Dairy Queen, and Praters Large Meal Preparation Plant in Lubbock, Texas. 

She was also known for the special affection she had for her truck, Jasper, which was a beloved part of her life and brought her much enjoyment.

Anita is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Shirley Musil April 16, 2025.

She is survived by her nieces, Jeanette Hastings of Lubbock, Texas, Stacy Whitaker of Abernathy, Texas, and Ammie Musil of Greensboro, North Carolina, and by her brother-in-law, Danny Musil of Abernathy, Texas. Cremation Services are under the care of Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop of Abernathy, Texas.
