Andrew Alcorta

Services for Andrew Alcorta, 42, of Abernathy, Texas will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, October 15, 2021 in the Abernathy United Church with Rev. Selso Torrez, officiating. Burial will follow in the Abernathy Cemetery. The family will gather to receive friends on Thursday, October 14, 2021 from 5:00pm - 6:30pm at Abell Funeral Home. Services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop of Abernathy. Andrew died on Friday, October 8, 2021 in Lubbock, TX. He was born on April 15, 1979 in Abilene, TX to Joe & Liandra (Olivares) Alcorta, Sr. Known as a gentle giant, Andrew loved having fun and was a big part of his family. He liked craft beer, hiking in the outdoors and was a grill master. A T.V. and movie buff, Andrew also enjoyed watching sports and cheering on his Dallas Cowboys and L.A. Lakers. He was very active in the Abernathy United Church volunteering as a member of the security team. His giving nature in life continued in death through his act as an organ donor. Andrew is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Ricardo & Maria Alcorta and maternal grandparents Miguel & Valentina Olivares. He is survived by his wife Ashlee Alcorta of Abernathy, 7 children Drew Alcorta of Abilene, Keigan Sires of Abernathy, Rylie Alcorta of Abilene, Kenlee Sires of Abernathy, Deacon Alcorta of Abilene, Karson Alcorta, and Karlie Alcorta, both of Abernathy, parents Joe Alcorta Sr. and wife Liandra, sister Cecilia Castillo and husband, Roy, Jr., 2 brothers Joe Alcorta, Jr. and wife, Amber, and Samuel Adriel Alcorta, along with numerous aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins, and in-laws.
