Altia Wade

Services for Altia Jackson Wade, 87, of Abernathy, TX, were held at 2:00 pm Thursday, April 25, 2002, in the Northside Baptist Church, Abernathy, TX, with Rev. Billy Parmer officiating. Burial followed in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy. Mrs. Wade died Tuesday morning, April 23, 2002 in Lubbock, TX. She was born on February 4, 1915 at Stephens County, OK. She and her family moved to Anton, TX in 1925 and she attended school at Spade, TX. She married Dennis R. Wade on December 22, 1935, he preceded her in death April 27, 1987. They farmed west of Abernathy, before moving to town in 1964. She worked for Grahams Restaurant for several years before retiring. She was a Baptist and a member of the Abernathy Senior Citizens. She was preceded in death by her parents, J.P. & Bessie (Foster) Jackson, one sister, Sue Ella Jackson and 3 brothers, Albert, Preston and Frank Jackson. Survivors; 2 sons, Marvin Wade of Paris, Ark., and James Wade of Lubbock, TX. 1 daughter, Carol Boyd of Abernathy, TX. 1 sister, Lorene Hill of Westville, OK. 1 brother, Jewell Jackson of Hawkins, TX. 14 grandchildren 19 great grandchildren To view other online obituaries log onto Abell Funeral Home
