Agracino Mendez

Rosary for Agracino Mendez, 77, of Slaton, TX, were recited at 7:45 pm, Monday, April 5, 2004, in the St. Isidore Catholic Church, Abernathy, TX, with Rev. Arnold Bravo, pastor, officiating. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10:00 am Tuesday, April 6, 2004, in the same church with the same officiant. Burial followed in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. Mr. Mendez died at his daughters home in Lubbock, TX, Friday, April 2, 2004. He was born December 18, 1926 in Cameron, TX. He married Margarita Rosales, September 20, 1953 in Abernathy. He served in the United States Navy from 1945 until 1946. He had lived in Slaton, Lubbock and Abernathy. He was a Catholic. Mr. Mendez was preceded in death by a daughter, Juanita Garcia in 1990. Survivors; wife, Margarita Mendez of Slaton, TX, 3 sons, Agracino Mendez, Jr, Jesus Mendez and Bobby Mendez all of Slaton, TX. 6 daughters, Maria Torres, Josephine mendez and Rita Mendez all of Lubbock, TX, Irene Lopez of Plainview, TX, Frances Mendez of Dallas, TX and Dominga Lopez of Garland, TX. 2 sisters, Maria Mediin of Houston, TX, and Guadalupe Mendoza of Ralls, TX. 35 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren.
