Agapito Cantu

Agapito "Pete" Cantu left this earth into the loving and gracious hands of Jesus on December 5, 2012. Rosary for Mr. Cantu, Sr., 86, of Abernathy, TX will be recited at 7:30 pm, Friday, December 7, 2012, in St. Isidore Catholic Church with Rev. Jacob Puthuparambil officiating. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 3:00 pm Saturday, December 8, 2012, in the same church. Burial will follow in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. He was born March 24, 1926 in Franklin, TX and was a longtime Abernathy resident. He married Augustina Ramos on November 7, 1948. He was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church where he served on numerous organizations including a Cursillista member and Men's Committee. He was preceded in death by his wife, Augustina Cantu on May 14, 2004, a sister Magdalena Mirelez, 2 brothers, Albert Cantu and Luciano Cantu and a great grandson Jonathan Pena. He is survived by a son, Agapito Cantu, Jr and his wife Barbara, 5 daughters, Irene Rodriguez, Irma Saenz, Beatrice Rios, Belinda De Los Santos and husband Noe and Melissa Lopez and husband Daniel, 5 sisters, Lorenza Moreno, Virgina Montelleno, Maria Soto, Dominga Hernandez, SantosZamudio and 2 brothers, Pat Cantu and Nazario Cantu, 20 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.
