Abel Soto

Military graveside services for Abel Soto, 57, of Lubbock, TX, were held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, November 9, 2011, in the Abernathy Cemetery with Rev. Joel Perez officiating. Services were under the direction of Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Mr. Soto died at his home Friday, November 4, 2011, in Lubbock, TX. Abelardo Soto was born in Lovington, NM, March 4, 1954 to Alfredo and Victoria Soto. He graduated from Fort Stockton High School and joined the United States Navy, dedicating fours years of patriotic service to his country from 1976-1980. Abel married and had two sons. Working and living in Lubbock, he enjoyed singing karaoke and was a true Dallas Cowboys fan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfredo and Victoria Soto, a brother, Fidel Soto and a sister, Virginia Elepe. He is survived by 2 sons; Dory Soto and his wife Brandi of Ft. Bliss, TX, and Nicholas Denton of Clare, Michigan, 2 sisters, Elida Harrell and Esparanza Perchez both of Lubbock, TX and 4 brothers, Alfredo Soto, Jr and Gilbert Soto both of Oklahoma, Guadalupe Soto of Amarillo, TX and Edward Soto of Big Lake, TX.
